What are Giclee prints?
A giclee print is a high resolution, archival inkjet reproduction of an original artwork. The term comes from the French word gicler, which means "to spray". Coined in 1991, it describes how professional inkjet printers spray microscopic droplets of pigment-based ink onto heavy, archival-grade paper or canvas.
Key Characteristics
Archival Quality: Uses fade-resistant, pigment-based inks designed to last over 100 years without significant color degradation.
High Resolution: Printed at extremely high dots-per-inch (DPI) counts, capturing subtle tones, sharp details, and smooth color gradients.
Wide Color Gamut: Utilizes advanced printers loaded with 8 to 12 distinct ink cartridges to accurately match original paintings and fine art.
Substrate Variety: Printed on acid-free surfaces like textured watercolor paper, matte fine art paper, or museum-quality stretched canvas.

Full Bleed: The print does not have a border and is the full measurement size ordered. Prints will be ready for mats and framing.
Print Process: 12-color Giclée printing using water-based archival pigment inks designed to last over 100 years without fading.
